The missionaries love to gather and to have fun. So each transfer they plan a zone activity. The activities are varied but usually have one thing in common: they are inexpensive.
President and I have been invited to a couple of activities like the Silver Spring zone Nerf Gun battle.
| We're supposed to look imposing. Did we succeed? |

| Left to right: Sister Matsumori, Sister Menendez, Sister Brown |
Now we're really not as violent as all of these games seem. This activity used marshmallow guns. You would think the "blow hards" would have an advantage here.

The Washington Zone went ice skating last year as well. (We weren't invited to that one). I was just happy that there were no calls about sprained ankles.
| Elder Faundez and Elder Benke demonstrate their ability to stay upright. |

| Warming the bench left to right: Sister Pinales, Sister Silva, Sister Tavernier, Sister Hazen, Elder Faundez, Elder Robinson, Elder Luk and Sister Cagnacci. |
When the weather is beautiful, outdoor zone activities are popular. This is the Washington South zone.

The Silver Spring South is happy that Elder McGarry's brother works on Capitol Hill. He arranged for the entire zone to take a tour together. The statue of Brigham Young sits behind the missionaries.

Back row left to right: Sister DeAgostini, Elder Palmer, Elder Cameron, Elder Salazar, Elder McGarry, guide, Elder Teriirere, Elder Searle, Elder Webb, Elder Nowlin, Elder Janmohamed, Elder Anderson, Elder Hansen, and Elder Bigelow. |
One favorite activity is having a photo scavenger hunt on the National Mall. Teams are given clues that lead them to the Smithsonian museums and monuments. Once they locate the right place, they take the photo and then move on.
| This team stops for a picture. Left to right: Elder Pierucci, Elder Kuddes, Elder Croft, Elder Lee and Sister Allen. |
| The Washington Zones gather at the end for a group picture. |
