Transfers are on Wednesdays. So the Monday night before transfers "call outs" are made. It's the time when the President makes lets those who will be made trainers, district leaders and zone leaders know. These calls are made from the mission office.
| President Matsumori talks to a missionary. |
| Elder Stewart, Elder Wright and Elder Teuscher work in the office before call-outs. |
| Copies of the Book of Mormon and supplies in many different languages to accommodate the diverse population we teach. |
After the President calls the leaders, the assistants then call the zone leaders to notify them of which missionaries in their zone will be leaving and which missionaries will be arriving. This allows them to make plans to arrange for bicycles, apartment changes etc.
| Elder Waite sits while Elder Nielsen stands. The transfer board to the left has pictures of the missionaries. |
| Elder Robinson stands and Elder Janmohamed and Elder Nielsen sit while calling the zone leaders. |
| Elder Janmohamed looks very comfortable in the president's chair, don't you think? |
| It may look like a mass of confusion, but the transfer board is organized - even the tilting of the cards has meaning. |
| Elder Stewart (looking relaxed in the President's chair), Elder Teuscher and Elder Wright call the zone leaders to notify them of the changes. |
I've recently learned that some missionary apartments have call-out get togethers. They wait by the phone so they can celebrate or commiserate as they learn of their fate for the next 6 weeks.
| Sister Crowfoot, Sister Wightman and Sister Staley....not sure if they are happy or sad about the news. |
| Front row: Sister Cagnacci, Sister Staley. Back row: Sister Wightman, Sister Crowfoot, Sister Gleason, Sister Menendez, Sister Gonzales, Sister Hanny. Perhaps this is the reason transfers are necessary. |
| Waiting for the phone on the floor to ring with news of their fate. Notice the area map on the wall. It is color coded for investigators, less actives, members, etc. |
