Twice a year the missionaries who will depart in the upcoming months visit Arlington National Cemetery on a preparation day. This historic site lies just outside of our boundaries, but is accessible by the Metro. So they go to see the JFK Memorial and the Changing of the Guard. They feel a special reverence in viewing the rows of headstones of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who have given their lives for the cause of freedom. Even for the international missionaries who do not have the same feeling about the Civil War, which was the beginning for Arlington, they still recognize the sacrifice made by these soldiers and their families.
