Transfer Week - New arrivals: July 17, 2012

The newly arriving missionaries flew into a different airport - still arriving early in the morning after taking a red eye flight.

Waiting for luggage - left to right: Elder Brown, Sister Word, Sister Blasco, Elder Boronow and Elder Pierucci.

Also waiting for luggage left to right: Elder Raasveld, Elder Croft, Elder Radford, Elder Gilbert, Elder Rushton, Elder Chapman and Elder Brown.

We were successful in retrieving everyone's luggage.  Now the next job is getting the luggage into the truck.

We made our usual stop at the temple grounds, but because of construction, the missionaries couldn't walk in the usual places.
Sister Matsumori, Sister Word and Sister Blasco by the flowers at the front gate.

The crane is being used in replacing the spires that came off in last year's earthquake.  You can see the black form on the right. That's how much of the spires were lost.

Left to right:  Elder Radfield, Springville, UT; Elder  Raasveld, British Columbia;  Elder Rushton, Keizer, OR; Sister Word, Las Vegas, NV; President and Sister Matsumoi; Sister Blasco, Spain; Elder Brown, Simi Valley, CA; Elder Gilbert, Sandy, UT; Elder Chapman, Australia; and Elder Boronow, Marysvale, UT.

We then went for breakfast, lunch or dinner - whatever the missionaries wanted.
Left to right:  Sister Blasco, Elder  Raasveld, Elder Chapman and Elder Radford.

Left to right: Elder Brown, Elder Brown (no type, there are two Elder Browns), Elder Croft and Elder  Rushton.

Left to right: Sister Word, (Sister Blasco is hiding), Elder Rassveld, Elder  Chapman, Elder Radford, Elder Boronow, Elder Pierucci and Elder Gilbert.

The waitress took the camera to prove that I ate at this meal as well.

The mission home is a good place for our first informal training.

Sister Black,  in front, covers medical advice that is found in the red notebook.

The blue binder also has information about the mission.

The  missionaries practice inviting people to be baptized - left to right:  Elder Rushton, Elder  Raasveld, Elder Radford and Elder Brown.

This group also practices - but in Spanish. Left to right: Elder Brown, Sister Blasco and Sister Word.

Dinner is served.
Left to right: Elder Radford, Elder Brown, Elder Rushton and Sister Word.

Left to right: Elder Chapman, Elder Gilbert and Elder Boronow.

I made a comment that I could never get a good picture of the ping pong games.  Before I knew it, anyone who had dropped out of the game had the camera.  So here are a bunch of pictures with few attempts at identifying who is in the picture.
At first there are many people in the game.

They wanted me to serve so I could have at least  one chance to hit the ball.

Sister Blasco's reaction is like the rest of us when we miss.

Sister Word's paddle grip is unorthodox.

Clearly the elders are more focused on winning.

And by the time there are fewer numbers, you  have to move quickly.
