A Day to Serve - September 29, 2012

A Day to Serve was a wonderful opportunity for most of our missionaries to serve alongside members of the church and of other faiths in order to help the hungry.  The governors in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and DC asked people to help in this effort.

Each missionary was encouraged to help the ward or branch accomplish their project for the day.  The Washington Stake asked for the missionaries in the area to help at the food bank as well as at the new 16th street chapel where they assembled 1,000 boxes of food.

The chapel also had an open house in conjunction with the service project. The community was invited to come and tour.  Missionaries here were assigned to act as guides and to help provide music.
